The Sister Team: How Two Sisters Deliver Two Services in One Visit

Every Logan Square parent knows the feeling. You finally book a babysitter for date night, and you come home to happy kids - but the kitchen is wrecked, the playroom looks like a toy store exploded, and there are crumbs on every surface. The kids were cared for, but the house was not.

Or maybe you have an aging parent in one of the high-rises on the Parkway. You arrange a companion to visit three times a week for conversation and meal prep. But the apartment is getting cluttered. The fridge needs a cleanout. The bathroom could use attention. The companion cares for your parent, but the home care falls through the cracks.

This is the gap we built The Sister Team to fill.

How It Works

The Sister Team is our signature service at Logan Square Care. When you book it, both of us arrive at your home at the same time. One sister focuses entirely on people care - watching the children, keeping your parent company, walking the dog, helping with homework. The other sister focuses entirely on home care - cleaning the kitchen, tidying bedrooms, doing laundry, organizing closets, whatever your space needs most.

Two professionals. Two skill sets. One visit. Everything handled simultaneously.

Before each visit, you tell us your priorities. Maybe today you need deep kitchen cleaning and toddler supervision. Next week it might be elder companionship and bathroom scrubbing. The allocation flexes to match what matters most to your family that day.

Real Use Cases from Logan Square Families

Date night prep - You and your partner are going out at 7 PM. We arrive at 5 PM. One sister starts dinner for the kids, gets them bathed, and handles bedtime. The other sister cleans the kitchen, tidies the living room, and gets your home guest-ready if you are having friends over afterward. You leave the house with happy kids and a clean home, and come back to the same.

Weekend elder visit - Your mom lives at The Philadelphian and you visit on Sundays. Book The Sister Team for Saturday afternoon. One sister spends two hours with your mom - cooking a couple of meals for the week, going through her mail, helping with her tablet. The other sister deep-cleans the kitchen, freshens the bathroom, changes the sheets, and organizes the pantry. When you visit Sunday, your mom is happy and the apartment is spotless.

Travel coverage - You are going away for a long weekend. Book The Sister Team for a pre-trip visit. One sister handles the dog walk, feeding, and settling the pets for the evening. The other packs your kids' lunches for the next two days, tidies the house, and sets everything up so whoever is watching the kids has a clean, organized home to work with.

Work-from-home rescue - You have back-to-back video calls from 1 PM to 5 PM. The kids are home from school. One sister takes the kids to Sister Cities Park, helps with homework, and makes them a snack. The other handles the pile of laundry, cleans up from lunch, and straightens the house. You close your laptop to find a calm home and happy kids.

The Pricing Math

This is where The Sister Team becomes a no-brainer. Here is what it costs to hire these services separately in Logan Square:

  • Babysitting alone: $22 per hour (Logan Square Care) or $21.78 (Care.com average)
  • House cleaning alone: $30 to $40 per hour for a solo cleaner in Philadelphia
  • Combined separately: $50 to $62 per hour for a sitter AND a cleaner at the same time
  • The Sister Team - $50 per hour for both services, delivered simultaneously.

That is $25 per person per hour. You are paying less per person than a Care.com babysitter charges alone, and you are getting a full home cleaning on top of it.

For a 3-hour Sister Team visit, you pay $150 and get three hours of childcare (or elder care or pet care) PLUS three hours of home cleaning. Booking those separately would run $150 to $186 - and you would need to coordinate two different people, two different schedules, and two different sets of instructions.

    Why It Works

The reason The Sister Team works so well is simple: we are family. We communicate instinctively. If the toddler is having a rough afternoon and needs extra attention, the care sister focuses completely on that while the home sister adjusts her plan. There is no awkwardness, no territorial tension, no "that is not my job" attitude. We flex together because we have been working together our entire lives.

This is not something you can replicate by hiring a babysitter and a cleaner from two different platforms. The coordination, the trust, and the seamless teamwork come from being sisters.

    Who Books The Sister Team

Our Sister Team clients fall into a few categories:

  • Parents with young children who need childcare and can never get the house clean during the week
  • Adult children managing care for aging parents in Logan Square buildings
  • Busy professionals who want their home maintained while their kids or pets are cared for
  • Families preparing for guests who need everything handled at once
  • If any of these sound like your situation, book a free meet-and-greet. We will come to your home together, walk through your space, meet your family, and plan exactly how we would split the work. No commitment, no pressure - just a conversation about how we can make your life easier.
